YOUNG RIDER OF THE YEAR

 

·                The year runs from the January competition to the November competition

·                Young Rider must  be a member of Illawarra Dressage

·                Young Rider's horse must be owned by a member of Illawarra Dressage

·                Young Rider is eligible  up to and including when they turn 21 within that competition year

·                Points will be awarded separate from the other HOTY's

·                The Young Riders will not be classed as a separate event.

 

 

PONY OF THE YEAR

·                The year runs from the July competition to the May competition

·                Rider must  be a member of Illawarra Dressage

·                Rider's pony must be owned by a member of Illawarra Dressage

·                Pony will be under 14.2 hands

·                Points will be awarded separate from the other HOTY's

·                The Pony classes will be classed as a separate event and ribbons awarded on the day.

 

RULES FOR HORSE OF THE YEAR

·                The year runs from the July competition to the May competition

·                Rider must  be a member of Illawarra Dressage

·                Horse or pony must be owned by a member of Illawarra Dressage

·                There will be:

·                Champion Preliminary Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion Novice Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion Elementary Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion Medium Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion Advanced Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion FEI Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion Young Rider of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                Champion Pony of the Year and Reserve Champion

·                 Points will be awarded as follows:

·                               1st Highest Placed Member = 6 points

·                               2nd Highest Placed Member = 5 points

·                               3rd Highest Placed Member = 4 points

·                               4th Highest Placed Member = 3 points

·                               5th Highest Placed Member = 2 points

·                               6th Highest Placed Member = 1 point

·                This means that you do not have to win or place in an event to gain points—you need to be in the top 6 members.

·                In the case of a tie the members will share the points eg = 1st will share 6 + 5 points

·                In the case of a tie for Champion, both will be awarded the title.

·                In the case of a tie for Reserve, both will be awarded the title.
